ORDBLINDETRÆNING

Mikael Højbjerg and Thomas Mose have created "Ordblindetræning" an online platform that provides dyslexic aid training for children, in private as well as in school. The tool can target the specific needs of the child with dyslexia, adjusting for the child’s age, degree of dyslexia and the environment in which the dyslexia training is taking place.

Problem

In Denmark, 5–7% of the children have dyslexia. These children usually do not receive the necessary systematic teaching they need, and therefore they risk being excluded from the class and school community and fall behind in their education. This can result in educational and socio-emotional challenges, loneliness, and low self-esteem.

Solution

Mikael Højbjerg and Thomas Mose created Ordblindetræning, an online platform that gives dyslexic children samples, exercises, and evaluation tools while they learn with the rest of the class. Mikael and Thomas also provide training to mentors and parents on dyslexia so they are empowered to conduct dyslexia aid training themselves within their local community in Denmark. Their goal for Ordblindetræning is to provide dyslexia training to all dyslexic children free-of-charge through government funding.
