Family Tales
Family Tales is a community of writers who create tailor-made fairy tales for children in orphanages based on the experiences of each individual child with a goal of increasing their self-confidence and eliminating fears and trauma.
In Croatia, over 2000 youngsters are in homes for children without adequate parental care. With our fairy tales, we can offer individual and long-term emotional support to each of them. We live in a world where we teach kids to believe in Santa Claus, but somehow fail to teach them to believe in themselves in life, at least for 5 minutes.
We are a community of writers who create unique fairy tales based on life facts of each individual child. Knowing their story, we create a fairy tale through which we befriend them with their fears or explain their trauma, work on their self-esteem or try to help them picture themselves in a happy future. After this, on a weekly or monthly basis we send letters to them on behalf of the fairy tale characters, reminding them how special, how important they are to this world and that we believe in them.
