Problem

Children who are victims of sexual assault face stigma and a society that lacks resources and knowledge to support them. There is a problem with how the media represent women and men, in addition to how women are being portrayed in pornography. And at the same time there is a lack of sexual education in schools, and education about gender roles.

Solution

Sanna’s solution is to provide support and a sense of belonging to children who are victims of sexual abuse, which is not provided by the government or society. In addition to sharing the lessons and insight gained from the child’s perspective, they also lobby to change society. Through powerful and norm-breaking advocacy Föreningen Storasyster promotes zero tolerance towards sexual abuse, no one should stand alone in the trauma that follows from sexual assault.
